During my internship with Senator Tina Smith’s Minnesota Office, I was given the assignment to research a policy issue that affected Minnesota’s local community but had federal implications. I landed on rent control as it was a big topic in the fall of 2021. I prepared a well-researched presentation that highlighted the background of rent control policies, its impacts on the community, and some potential solutions.
